WASHINGTON – SKDKnickerbocker (SKDK), the 2018 Holmes Report North America Public Affairs agency of the year, announced today that seasoned political and public relations strategist Cameron French and former senior advisor at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Charlie Meisch have joined as vice presidents to lead a wide range of corporate, technology, advocacy and crisis clients. Meisch was also named director of SKDK’s technology practice.

Cameron joins SKDK most recently from Burson Cohn & Wolfe, where as director of public affairs and crisis he specialized in coordinated media planning, event management and organizational responses to media crises. Previously, he served under President Obama for six years in various key communications roles, including on his 2012 reelection campaign, at the U.S. Department of Education and at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As a senior official at HUD, he oversaw the day-to-day management of the press office and provided strategic counsel to Secretary Julián Castro as his chief spokesman. Cameron also brings a robust knowledge of regional media relations from his work for the Democratic National Committee and in top communications roles for Congressman Brad Sherman (CA-30) and former Congressman John Hall (NY-13).

Charlie is a leading technology expert and consultant who joins the D.C. office from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), where he was a senior advisor for the FCC’s Incentive Auction Task Force, served as policy advisor to the chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, and provided strategic media counsel to two FCC chairmen. He also served as a vice president at the public affairs firm LMG, Inc., where for 12 years he led issue and brand ID campaigns for clients in the technology and telecommunications sectors. Charlie leverages his policy expertise to clearly communicate with stakeholders and to advocate for technological innovations.

WASHINGTON – The Holmes Report named SKDKnickerbocker (SKDK) 2018’s North America Public Affairs Agency of the Year. The award is a welcome addition to SKDK’s 2015 and 2016 wins.

According to The Holmes Report, awarding the North America Public Affairs Agency of the Year is the “result of an exhaustive research process involving more than 150 submissions and 50 face-to-face meetings with the best firms across the United States and Canada.” Paul Holmes, founder and CEO of the Holmes Report, noted SKDK’s role in “fighting the good fight” and highlighted the firm’s work in defending the Affordable Care Act and with other great causes on behalf of women and families.
